Some people in the technology industry, including the late Steve Jobs, have argued that we are now in a "post-PC" era. According to this view, the PC is no longer the centre of the computing world. Instead, it is taking a back seat to a wide range of new mobile-computing devices which will dominate the future. These include tablet computers and smartphones. Combined shipments of the two devices are forecast to exceed those of PCs for the first time this year.

答案     PC(personal computer), at one point, played an essential role in people’s lives. The whole world proved to be different thanks to PC. Nowadays, however, some people in the IT industry claim that the times of PC is over and people are about to usher in the era of new mobile-computing devices.
    The most important reason behind all those changes is probably because people’s living style has changed. They need to surf the internet anytime anywhere, and they hope to get all kinds of functions in just one device, such as videos, cameras, chat rooms and phones. Therefore, small and portable electronic devices have been urged from the world and a huge item like PC is no longer welcomed. Due to people’s need for convenience, tablet computers and smart phones totally find their way to the market and to people’s daily life.
    In brief, with the development of the society and with people’s high expectation, PC’s replacement seems inevitable these days. It is the new types of mobile-smart phones that will dominate the future.
