答案     The Impact of the Internet Slang on Students
As is vividly shown in the picture, a student grasping a mobile phone complains about her teacher’s disqualification of spelling pedagogy. In her eyes, the Internet slang like U, BRB and BFN is standard spellings while those orthodox ones contrarily are taken as mistakes. Personally, I can’t agree more that the impact today’s Internet slang has on children is dreadful.
To start with, the Internet slang does harm to novice learners’ nuistery of correct spellings. With a great deal of slang spreading around the virtual world, they may consider those slang as right spellings and discard authoritative vocabularies. What’s worse, some Internet slang is composed of dirty words. To say the least, applying these terms to daily life may have a psychological hint on students, which is detrimental to students’ mental health.
All in all, currently the Internet slang is not conductive to students’ words spelling or mental health development. I don’t deny the convenience offered by the Internet slang, but I do hope that more regulations will be proposed to standardize and purify the Internet slang.
