    The chart shows the ratio of men to women employed in executive positions. Compared with men, women have the highest percentage (about 72%) in the lowest grade E, while the proportion in the highest grade A is the lowest (about 8%). It is obvious that women still have a long way to go before they achieve full equality with men in the workplace.
    The obvious inequality between men and women in the workplace may be mainly due to the following reasons. For one thing, women are still thought to be inferior who cannot hold managment jobs, despite the fact that women can take up almost all the professions once only occupied by men. The cases of sexual discrimination are often heard of because people think women are less efficient, competitive and tough. For another, the double burden inside and outside the home makes it impossible for women to make full use of their knowledge and talents.
    Despite the great strides women have made, the picture of women’s equality with men is not quite that rosy. The sexual discrimination is still widespread so that equality continues to be a long-term goal.
