    In the cartoon, a girl sitting on her mother’s back asks her mother to buy three electronic devices produced by the Apple company. "It would be a disgrace if you don’t buy me these things", says the little girl. But her mother is scared, maybe she can’t afford them. The cartoon shows the phenomenon that teenagers become vain nowadays.
    There are two reasons to account for this phenomenon. First, more and more single children families have appeared in China. Children are spoiled by their parents who would satisfy any demand of their kids. Second, teenagers are mentally immature, which is a reason why they always want to keep up with the Joneses. They can’t tolerate others having a better material life.
It is high time that measures be taken to cure the syndrome of such a universal illness on children. On the one hand, parents should not indulge their children in luxuries and pocket money. On the other hand, the society should take joint efforts to steer the students to the right track of consumption.
