His mother, however, told him to ignore others’ criticism and be optimistic: thus, he gradually became confident and successful. What’s more, optimism enables humans to have more friends. Like warm sunshine, optimistic people tend to attract friends, who admire the shining quality of being happy.
    In short, optimism, one of the most important virtues, can help us surmount obstacles and lead us to a more successful and fruitful life.
