    From this graph, we can learn that the number of passengers traveling by air tended to be on the increase decade by decade in the whole world. In 1980 there were less than 5 percent of passengers traveling by air. However, in 2010, the number incredibly jumped to 35 percent.
    There are several reasons accounting for the rapid increase in the number of passengers traveling by air. Firstly, the economic globalization greatly promotes world-wide communication, which contributes to the boom of air transportation. Secondly, as we all know, air transportation is much more time-saving, which is of vital importance to modern people. Last but not least, people’s higher income ensures that they can afford to travel in a more comfortable way.
    As far as I am concerned, the boom in traveling by air is an inevitable trend of modernization. With the development of human society, previously high-end consumption is gradually shifting into mass consumption. Thus more and more people choose to travel by air.
