问题 Which attraction matches the questions?
Choose FIVE answers from the box and write the correct letter, A-F, next to Questions 16-20.
ATTRACTIONS
A     Powerhouse
B     Sound house
C     Discovery Centre
D     Lace Study Centre
E     Vector lab
F     Observatory [br]
So, I hope you enjoyed the tour, but, before I leave you I just want to draw your attention to one more thing. Your observatory ticket also entitles you to visit another of Sydney’s famous sights at a 50% discount. You’ll find lots on to keep the children entertained. For example, they’ve got a sound workshop where you can have a go at being a DJ. This is called the Sound House, and you’ll find it up on the second floor, just after the kid’s playground. Look for signs for the Vectorlab Workshops if you get lost. For those of you interested in fashion and design, the Lace Study Centre should not be missed. You’ll get the chance to look at one of the country’s best collections all in one place. However, like most museums, only a fraction of their collections are actually on display, but in the museum’s Discovery Centre, you can take the opportunity to go behind the scenes and see parts of the collection that are not on display. All of these attractions can be found under one roof at Sydney’s famous Powerhouse Museum. I do hope you are able to go and enjoy the experience. You won’t be disappointed!
(P=Professor C=Carrie)
P: Good morning. Your name is Carrie Sanders, isn’t it?
C: That’s right.
P: Well, Carrie, as we explained in the letter, in this interview I’d like to talk about some of the things that you mentioned in your application form, such as your experience and academic background.
C: I see.
P: Now, for your undergraduate degree, you studied geography, right?
C: That’s correct. At the Scottish National University.
P: SNU is a very prestigious university. Apart from that, were there any other reasons that you chose to study there?
C: Well, you’re correct in suggesting that the main reason I went there was due to the superior quality of the university, but there were two other reasons. The first was that it is reasonably far from my home. I wanted to be as independent as possible from my family while I was studying and felt that that was one way of achieving that aim. The other reason was that the university offered an excellent program of summer work in developing countries and that’s something I was very keen on.
P: That would be the Livingstone Project?
C: That’s right.
P: I’d like to return to that in a minute. Let me just check the optional courses you took in your third year.
C: The two compulsory courses were Methodology in Geography and Statistical Analysis and I chose Infrastructure, Development Issues and Geology in addition to those.
