Oklahoma State University is planning to charge students for taking the bus shuttle. Read the announcement about it from the president of Oklahoma State University. You will have 45 seconds to read the announcement.

Student A Oh, hi. I’m still in shock. How could the university charge us a quarter each time for the shuttle bus?
Student B Me too. You know, I have to take the school bus everyday, even several times a day.
Student A So do I. If we pay every time, that will be a lot of money. I have done a calculation. If we pay a quarter each time, that will be a couple of hundreds of dollars per semester. It’s just too much for us.
Student B I think so, too. And also, what an inconvenience! Whenever we take the bus, we have to give the bus driver a quarter. It takes time for us to prepare quarters, take them out and give them to the drivers. And what if we happen to carry no quarters with us? We have to wait for the drivers to give us back our change. It’s a waste of time. I just hate it. Plus, we are in a hurry to catch our classes in the morning. It’s gonna waste a lot of our time in the morning. 答案     In my opinion, the advantages of having a non-native English teacher outweigh the disadvantages. First of all, a non-native English teacher has a command of two languages. When they teach, they can use the two languages in class. In this way, students will have a good understanding of the class. Besides this, in a non-English-speaking environment, a non-native teacher has the same cultural background with the students, so she or he, may have an easy communication with students in terms of culture. Therefore, there is no cultural gap between them. Last but not least, since a non-native teacher was educated in the same political and educational environment, she or he may understand students’ learning process of English better than a native teacher does. Because of all these, I think a non-native teacher may make a more effective teacher than a native one.
