    We will foster/ cultivate the common ideal of Chinese-type socialism among all groups in society, launch an extensive campaign to spread/ instill the socialist concept/ notion of honor and disgrace, and develop/ nurture an atmosphere/ a climate in society that fosters civilized and ethical behavior/ conduct. Particular attention will be paid to cultivating ideals and ethics among young people. We will further develop philosophy and the social sciences. To meet the cultural needs of the people, we will uphold the cultural rights and interests of the people, and work to gradually establish a system of public cultural services that covers all groups in society. We will give/ assign high priority to the project to extend radio and TV coverage to every village, the project to develop multi-use cultural centers for communities, towns and townships, the project to set up a national database for sharing cultural information and resources, the project to show movies in the countryside, and the project to set up libraries in rural areas. We will continue developing a number of key cultural projects/ undertakings. We will strengthen efforts to develop and manage the Internet culture and effectively protect ( do a good job in protecting) our cultural heritage/ legacy, natural heritage/ inheritance and archives/ historical records. We will step up the administration of the cultural market, continue to combat pornography and illegal publications (strive to stamp out/ crack down on pornography and illicit publications). We will make determined efforts to promote sports programs and the sports industry, improve the urban and rural grass-roots sports facilities, energetically launch a nationwide fitness campaign, and improve (raise the level of) competitive sports.
