A: The Belt and Road Initiative is a foreign policy of the People’s Republic of China. The term derives from the overland "Silk Road Economic Belt" and the "21st Century Maritime Silk Road", concepts introduced by President Xi Jinping in 2013. Why do you think China proposes such an initiative?
B：中国提出“一带一路”倡议，是想要通过这“一带”和“一路”两个主轴，穿越欧亚大陆和印度洋上的国家，在经济上与欧洲联系起来。“一带一路”倡议还将中国与非洲和大洋洲联系了起来。2015年3月，中国发布了一项行动计划，以实现这一倡议。
A: I know that the initiative emphasizes five key areas of cooperation: coordinating development policies, forging infrastructure and facilities networks, strengthening investment and trade relations, enhancing financial cooperation and deepening social and cultural exchanges. This is planning at the macro level. Do you know any specific projects?

A: But it is infrastructure that is receiving most attention, isn’t it? China has signed cooperational documents on the Belt and Road Initiative with 138 countries and 30 international organizations. China and the countries along the Belt and Road have carried out effective cooperation in ports, railways, highways, power stations, aviation and telecommunications.
B：没错。就拿海上丝路建设作为例子，重点将放在印度洋一太平洋区域的港口和枢纽的发展。中国将会帮助外国建设港口设施及相关经济区，而同时中国也能够获得更多的进入海外市场的机会，可谓是双赢。
