   不一会，一位60多岁的日本引水员登上我轮。他彬彬有礼地向方船长鞠了一个躬，用流利的汉语说：“为了表示对中国人民的友好，我港方把山下码头一至十号泊位正式划为中国船舶优先停泊处。”他把“中国”两字说的特别有力。船长热情地伸出双手，微笑着说：“谢谢!”在这一瞬间，我真正理解了“中国”这两个字的含义，感觉到了她的力量。祖国强大，我们才能在国外受到如此的热情接待。后来，方船长又告诉我，在日本的许多港口都有专门的中国船舶优先停泊处，而且总是热情迎送。尽管远离祖国，但是我们始终感到有伟大的祖国作坚强后盾。我们的航向永远朝着祖国。

Later on, I learned from Captain Fang that in many other Japanese seaports there are berths where Chinese ships enjoy similar priority and are invariably received and sent off with cordiality. Though far our motherland, we feel all the while that she is behind us. We shall always orient our hearts towards our motherland.
