The American pop star Michael Jackson and his family have retired to the privacy of his Neverland Ranch after the singer was cleared of all charges at his trial in California. His father Joe Jackson told supporters gathered at the gates of the Ranch that the singer was too exhausted to celebrate. Michael Jackson was found not guilty at the end of the trial that had seen him accused of sexually abusing a 13-year-old boy. His lawyer Thomas Mesereau, said justice was done. Daniel Lack reports.
   "There were scenes of delight outside the court as the verdicts were announced. But Michael Jackson barely managed to wave or blew a kiss to the assembled supporters as he left, The prosecutor Tom Sneddon said his staff had done their best. At the end of the day it was all up to the jury. Unusually jurors gave reasons for the verdict at a post-trial news conference, explaining that they didn’t find the prosecution case credible, or the family that had accused Michael Jackson of child abuse. One juror later said in an interview that the singer may well have abused children, but that hadn’t been proven. Michael Jackson hasn’t said what he plans to do now that he’s vindicated. But paying his debts must be high on his lists of priorities."
