答案     How to learn foreign language? Whether the normal method such as attending lessons, reading books and so on or the easy way for example listening to radio, wathching TV and seeing movies has its advantages and disadvantages? Which you prefer depends on your own experienee, life style and emotional concern. As for me, a university student who hopes to study abroad, learning to use living language is more important than getting high scores in the grammar or reading comprehension tests. So, I like to learn language by the easy way.
   I have studied English almost eleven years. When I was in high school, I preferred studying English lessons and memorizing the grammar rule. This method helped me earn such high scores in various English tests that I did not doubt its efficiency. But the first English listening quiz in the University completely frustrated me. Just in that time I realized I did not understand English studying.
   I should thank one of my English teachers in University, who was a graduate student from USA. His lecture did not focus only on the text book. Different from many other teachers, he often carried a tape recorder to the classroom and his lecture just began with a USA pop song. Pop song is always the most interesting topic among youths. In his lessons, every student including me voluntarily had the desire to talk about his own opinion. Affected by the teacher, I began to link English with my life and my hobbies. Listening to foreign radio program, seeing movies, watching TV and so on all became the roads to learn English. Step by step, I felt more interested in English studying and improved my English proficiency greatly.
   Language is the product of circumstance. I remembered that when I first saw an American movie, the pronunciation of American people and the countenance when they were speaking surprised me. Because of the different cultural background, a Chinese student can not understand deeply how English forms American life and the character of American people if he leaves radio, TV and movies. Without the opportunities of talking with foreigners, listening to foreign radio pro gram or watching TV, a student will exclude himself from the culture which he wants to explore. It is not imaginable that he can learn to use living language.
   Of course, memorizing enough words and knowing grammar rules are very important for students especially for beginners. But considering the purpose of learning foreign language is to communicate with foreigner and understand more about the foreign culture, I should emphasize the importance of the practical, easy and efficient way such as listening to radio, watching TV, talking to foreigners and seeing films in learning foreign language.
