Naked marriage is one of the most popular catchwords at the moment. Proponents say that a certificate is all that’s needed to get married. But opponents think that marriage without materials is like the safe without a lock and it will break down at any time. What is your opinion? Write an essay of about 400 words on the following topic:
Is the Naked Marriage Acceptable?
In the first part of your essay you should state clearly your main argument, and in the second part you should support your argument with appropriate details. In the last part you should bring what you have written to a natural conclusion or make a summary.
Marks will be awarded for content, organization, grammar and appropriateness. Failure to follow the above instructions may result in a loss of marks.

The Naked Marriage Is Acceptable
The Chinese people [1] make much account of tradition. That’s why the traditional marriage concept [2] predominates over the naked marriage, which means the couple gets married with no house, no car, no wedding ceremony and even no wedding rings. Like every innovation in life, the naked marriage has become a hot topic among people. [3] Some wonder if the marriage with no wedding celebration can be accepted by the parents and relatives qf the bride and the groom. [3] Others worry that such a marriage will cause problems to the [4] newlywedS afterwards. [3] Still others are confused, not knowing if the registration-only marriage [5] exemplifies the progress of the new era. As far as I am concerned, the naked marriage is acceptable and worthy of recommendation because the younger generation is under greater pressure and it is burdensome for them to follow the traditional marriage.
The [6] empirical evidence that supports the naked marriage is [7] overwhelming. Firstly, it reduces the rates of cohabitation before marriage. Nowadays marriage as an institution has been weakened by widespread social change and more and more people accept cohabitation before marriage when they cannot afford a traditional marriage. On average, premarital cohabitation often leads to unsettled life, infidelity, domestic violence and other problems. Secondly, compared with people who get married with all the necessary accessories, such as an elaborately decorated house and an expensive car, those who [8] resign themselves to a naked marriage are more likely to develop a sense of belonging and fulfillment when joining hands with their spouse to create a bright future. Thirdly, people who choose a naked marriage can save the money which may otherwise be spent on the wedding for future expenses like their children’s education.
In conclusion, a naked marriage demonstrates that you love a person purely and unconditionally and that you are willing to [9] share his/her lot. It gives you a chance to channel all your love, attention, energy and ambition. The sacrifices or compromises you have to make in a naked marriage are worthwhile so long as you marry the right person. However, marriage is not only about a piece of paper but about a lifelong commitment. Therefore, what kind of wedding you choose, the traditional ones or the new style, [10] has little bearing on how happy you will be after getting married.
