J: Hi Paul.
P: Hello John.
J: Did you enjoy Bob’s party the other night?
P: Yes I did. It was really nice to see everyone again after all these years. I could hardly recognize Nancy. She used to be such a tomboy. Now she is so beautiful and elegant.
J: As the old saying goes: A girl changes fast and becomes beautiful. You know she has married a general manager who owns a large real estate company in the US.
P: Really? But she deserves it. She used to be very intelligent.
J: James must feel sorry to hear it. He and she used to be good friends in our class.
P: I know what you mean.
J: Anyway, what about that holiday we were talking about? Do you still want to go ahead with it? P: You bet I do! I’ve been very busy at work and I really need a break. You know, just lie in the sun and relax. Maybe read a book or two.
J: Are you kidding? I was thinking about something more active. You know, maybe do some sightseeing or swimming. Maybe even some surfing if you’re up to it.
P: I think I could be persuaded. Yes, why not? Surfing sounds like fun to me. But where had you got in mind? The destination, I mean.
J: Well, I called into the travel agent this morning and picked up some brochures. Here, take a look. I’ve got one on the South of France which looks really nice. Or there’s Italy if you fancy some culture. Or, of course, there’s Greece.
P: Greece sounds good. I haven’t been there before. Look at that picture. Blue sky, white sands and a beautiful clear blue sea.
J: I know, but have you seen the price? 450 pounds for one week. And that doesn’t even include the hotel!
P: Yeah, it is a bit expensive, isn’t it? What about the South of France?
J: That’s a lot cheaper. In fact there is a special deal on at the moment. 10 days, including the hotel, for only 250 pounds.
P: Let’s have a look at Italy.
J: I already have. It’s far too expensive.
P: France it is then, I guess. But can we choose the hotel? I don’t want to get there and find they’ve put us up in a really cheap place miles away from the beach.
J: No problem. There are three hotels to choose from. This one looks the best.
P: Which one? Paradise Rock or the Sea View?
J: The Paradise Rock. It’s only a 10-minute-walk from the beach. Half that if you take a bus. And breakfast is included in the price. We do have to pay a surcharge, though.
P: How much?
J: 10 pounds. But I guess it’s worth it. The location is great and they even have an outdoor swimming pool if you don’t want to leave the hotel.
1. What is the probable relationship between the two speakers?
2. Where did John get the brochures of traveling information?
3. Where are the two speakers going to for holiday?
4. How many hotels in France they can choose from according to the brochures?
5. Which is NOT one of the advantages of The Paradise Rock?

选项 A、Father and son.
B、Colleagues.
C、Former classmates.
D、Travel agent and client.

答案 C

解析 询问对话人的关系。在录音开始部分可以听到:It was really nice to see everyone again after all these years....James must feel sorry to hear it.He and she used to be good friends in our class.可以判断两人原来是同学,在Bob的派对上见面以后,开始商谈一起度假的事宜。因此选项C正确。
