Attacks and clashes in Indian Kashmir have killed nine people and wounded more than fifty others. The first two victims were killed in the main city of Srinagar when a bomb hidden in a handcar exploded. Twenty- eight people were wounded.  Hours later, in the town of Anantnag, separatist militants threw a grenade at troops, wounding at least twenty-four people. In the south, one policeman was killed and two others were wounded when militants attacked a police post. In the north, three soldiers and three rebels were killed in a gun battle. Thousands of people have died in the last fifteen years since Muslim rebels launched an armed insurgency against Indian-rule in Kashmir.
