     In China, both petroleum manufacture and tourism are important industries. If I were to make a development policy, I would put more emphasis on tourism. This is because tourism can bring a lot of benefits to China.
     Tourism, first of all is a smokeless industry, which can achieve sustainable development. Maybe it is not highly profitable at first, but it has a bright a perspect. Thousands upon thousands of foreign visitors are crowding into our country. They are eager to see this old mysterious land with a splendid culture of more than 5.000 years. And there will be more people coming. Thus the industries relevant to tourism can be promoted.
     Tourism, then, enables the Chinese people to know more about the outside world and promotes friendship and understanding. Meanwhile, China becomes known to the world. This is certainly good for the development of our country.
     Third, tourism is financially beneficial to China, which needs more foreign currencies for its modernization program.
     Tourism, of course, has a number of problems. For instance, it becomes a burden to inefficient transportation system. However, I believe, with the development of our national economy, the problems will be solved step by step. A much better and brighter future awaits tourism if we develop it with every effort.
