Should Famous People Deserve Constant Public Scrutiny?
Stars have no privacy nowadays. I think it’s wrong. Famous people don’t deserve constant public scrutiny, and they should have more protection from intrusive reporting.
First it’s a problem concerning human rights Since humans are born equal, everyone should have the right of privacy, including famous people. Of course, celebrities should appear more often than common people in the media, but this must be based on the fact that he or she wants to tell the public something. It’s very rude to report people’s privacy, especially what is wanted to be hidden, to the public just in order to entertain people or make some commercial profits. That’s not humane. Secondly, it’s also nonsense for people to search unimportant information about famous people. For example, what will it make to follow a star to find out with whom he is dating or what he is buying? Is this kind of information useful to our study, our work, or our life? Everyone is inclined to intrude others’ privacy, and the media just encourage this tendency instead of inhibiting it. Many adolescents nowadays are interested in pursuing the stars’ privacy. They spend more time buying newspapers and magazines and enjoy reading this kind of report than studying.
So I call on the public to pay less attention to famous people’s private life, as they certainly not deserve it.
