    Every group consists of a leader and many followers. Some students would rather choose to be a follower when they are facing different positions in the clubs of the universities. To them, the position of leader means responsibility, pressure and laborious tasks, and therefore it is not likable at all. However, I think that it’s always better to be a leader than a follower, as the position of a leader is the best position to cultivate one’s abilities.
    First of all, although the leader has much more responsibility and pressure than anyone else, the high sense of conscientiousness that is built in the position of a leader is essential in all kinds of jobs. Moreover, a leader might not be hands-on, but he must take the initiative and anticipate every aspect of the task, so the president of the students’ union, for example, would have a more comprehensive perspective than his members do. There is another argument that deserves some words here. The job of a leader is not only giving orders, but also motivating and encouraging his followers. A leader should also reconcile the disputes if necessary, thus being a leader is the opportunity to develop communication and inter-personal skills.
    With all these reasons being contemplated, the advantages of being a leader carry more weight than disadvantages. So take the position of a leader, you can harvest a lot from it.
