YES
Young leaders who are well-educated are more likely to have a deeper understanding of cultural differences, and they can empathize with employees and clients much better.
Compared with senior leaders, young leaders can apply the latest technology and theory to practice, and this can counteract the negative stereotype of management and greatly improve productivity.
A distinct merit emerging from youngsters working in such positions is the improvement of government efficiency. Admittedly, most government agencies are thirsty for high efficiency so that they can provide better services for the public.
NO
Youngsters might make incorrect decisions that hamper the government’s working process due to their lack of experience and inability to analyze problems.
Elderly people have better cognitive competence, such as a wider perspective and a long-term vision. Their rich experience and lessons learned from failures have taught them to take every aspect into consideration before making important decisions.
Since senior leaders have already overcome countless difficulties and met various challenges, they can, when in rough times, quickly adjust their moods in turmoil and boost the morale of the whole organization.

Should Young People Undertake Important Positions in Government Agencies?
Nowadays, whether young people should hold important posts in government agencies has become a controversial issue. Many citizens tend to distrust young leaders’ working ability due to their age and lack of experience. However, some people believe that youngsters are eligible for leadership roles because of their innovation ability and vitality.
From my point of view, I am inclined to elect young people as leaders although older leaders might have more credibility and influence. To begin with, young leaders can take more decisive measures to tackle corruption since they have less interpersonal problems to worry about.
Moreover, with youngsters undertaking seniors’ positions, efficiency in handling affairs will be greatly improved which can keep the government innovative and productive. Finally, young leaders are more open-minded and more likely to accept new things, which can facilitate the enforcement of new policies.
To sum up, old leaders have to be continually replaced by new ones, which is an unalterable law of nature, so young people should be given the opportunities to practise leadership. And yet there is no denying that young leaders have a lot to learn from their predecessors, since they are rich in practical experience.
