Where did the thief steal the cars from? [br]
W: ...and now to local news. A car thief started a six year prison sentence last night after stealing 36 cars. All the cars were stolen from showrooms in the Midlands area and were worth a total of more than £ 400, 000. He was arrested by police at his home in Sheffield.
The court was told that Blain, a cleaner who doesn’t own a car, walked into car showrooms and asked to test drive a car. He then drove away from the showroom and didn’t return. Every car was later found at the side of the road, absolutely spotless inside and out. Blain washed and cleaned each one before leaving it.
Judge Alan Goldsack told Blain that he had to give him a long jail sentence. Blain was taken away by police to begin his sentence at Pentonville Prison.
Blain’s wife, Mary, a 48-year-old nurse, said their 13-year marriage was now over. She told reporters, ’ He looked after the cars better than me. ’
选项
A、He cleaned them, and then left them at the side of the road.
B、He painted them and then kept them.
C、He sold them to other people.
答案
A
解析
由第二段最后两句可知,偷车贼从陈列室把车开走,在他离开之前会把车里外都清洗干净,然后停在路边。原句为Every car was later found at the side of the road…Blainwashed and cleaned each one before leaving it,故选A o
