W: (1)Jeff, you mentioned to me that you went across the Amazon rainforest in Brazil.
M: Yes. I was going to South America and when I do a trip I don’t like to be a regular tourist and just go sightseeing.
W: (2)I got an idea from a National Geographic magazine to go straight across South America(3)from the Pacific Ocean in Peru, starting in Peru, across to the Atlantic Ocean on the opposite side in Brazil, and you have to go through the Andes Mountains and then you have to go across and through the Amazon, so that’s what I want to do this month.
M: That’s fantastic.
W: It will be a good trip.
M: Will you travel alone? It’s high season, monsoon season, so the river is high, and of course they speak Spanish instead of English in South America.
W: It’s too dangerous, so I had to look for another travel partner who is a little bit as crazy as I am to do the next trip.(4)Would you like to go with me?
M: (4)Sure! I think we can call John to go together. He was a good tourist guide with a lot of geographic knowledge!
W: Oh! It’s a good idea!
