    Some people argue that art does not directly improve people’s quality of life, so government should spend more money on other things. However, others argue that the government should invest money in art. As far as I’m concerned, the government should encourage the development of art.
    Several reasons can account for my argument. In the first place, the prosperity of a nation’s traditional art will enhance its citizens’ national pride. In the second place, various art can be considered as a nation’s belief, which could strengthen a country’s national cohesion. In the third place, the investment in art could bring immense commercial value. By that I mean, the efforts of artists could be beneficial to the nation’s economy by means of creating music or making film.
    All in all, it is a worthwhile investment to sponsor artists, because their efforts could, to a large extent, facilitate the healthy development of art.
